Middle Klamath River
|
We recommend the middle Klamath River for families with young children ages 3 and older, as well as first-time rafters. This section of the river offers plenty of small to medium rapids that will make this a fun-filled family river rafting trip. Get ready for some infectious laughter from your children as well as whoops of joy from adults who feel like kids again. Between the rapids, there is plenty of time for a relaxing swim in the cool, refreshing water or engaging in a rousing water fight with other rafters.
You might also choose to just sit back, relax, and soak up the warm summer sunshine. If your are a bird watcher, be sure to bring along your binoculars for spotting a wide variety of species from small finches, orioles and jays to flycatchers, ducks, and herons, among many others. You may even add a few new species to your birding life list. Also available on this stretch of the middle Klamath River is an opportunity to try maneuvering an inflatable kayak.

LOWER KLAMATH RIVER TRIP – NOT OFFERED AT THIS TIME
Lower Klamath River

River rafting California begins on the lower Klamath River near the sleepy rural community of Happy Camp. By far, this section of the river is the most traveled of the entire Klamath River. Our fun-filled adventure will bring you face-to-face with Class II (fun) and Class III (moderate) rapids, and we’ll even throw in one Class IV (exciting) rapid named Dragon’s Tooth just to keep things interesting.
Between rapids, you will have time to swim in the Klamath River’s refreshing water, or just lie back and soak up the warm summer sunshine as it melts your cares away. Following lunch on the last day of your trip, you can choose to take a 40-minute hike up Ukonom Creek to view the breathtaking Ukonom twin falls. At the falls, you can either swim in the cool, crystal-clear water or relax and let the mist slowly caress your face. As an added feature, we also offer the free use of our inflatable kayaks. |
