Ages: 3+ Class II-III (Family Fun)
Season: May - October
We recommend the middle Klamath River for families with young children ages 3 and older, as well as first-time rafters. This section of the river offers plenty of small to medium rapids that will make this a fun-filled family river rafting trip. Get ready for some infectious laughter from your children as well as whoops of joy from adults who feel like kids again.
Between the rapids, there is plenty of time for a relaxing swim in the cool, refreshing water or engaging in a rousing water fight with other rafters. You might also choose to just sit back, relax, and soak up the warm summer sunshine. If your are a bird watcher, be sure to bring along your binoculars for spotting a wide variety of species from small finches, orioles and jays to flycatchers, ducks, and herons, among many others. You may even add a few new species to your birding life list. Also available on this stretch of the middle Klamath River is an opportunity to try maneuvering an inflatable kayak.
These water craft are very forgiving for even the rawest of beginners. Your guide will offer thorough instruction, and in no time at all you will have mastered many maneuvers in your inflatable kayak. We offer a one-to-one ratio of inflatable kayaks to rafts, and we require that all kayakers wear a helmet at all times when aboard the kayak. We also offer some two-person inflatable kayaks. If you are looking for a one-of-a-kind family river rafting adventure, join us on this delightful whitewater river trip. Half-day adventures cover 7.5 river miles. Full-day adventures include 12 river miles. Two-day trips include 24 river miles.
